Gold & Platinum Tanzanite Ring
|
|
A beautiful tanzanite rests in a garden of platinum flowers, trailing leaves and yellow golden tendrils. The artistry of this ring is matched by the mastery of the craftsmanship and the beauty of the platinum and gold.
The rich violet blue tanzanite weighs 2.17 carats and is cushion cut. On either side of the tanzanite a platinum flower with trailing leaves sweeps down the shoulders of the ring. A round brilliant diamond is set in the center of each flower. This ring and matching band are an ideal bridal set. |
![]() From the side you can see the platinum setting that securely holds the tanzanite. The arrangement of the prongs - two at each corner of the tanzanite - is known as a "French double-prong setting." Appropriately, a platinum fleur de lis blossoms between the two outer prongs. Note the tight curls sculpted in the yellow gold supporting the platinum setting. The sinuous curls suggest golden vines flowing beneath the flowers! |

This close-up shows the naturalistic flowers and cascade of platinum leaves that flow down the shoulders of the ring. At the center of the flower heads a small round brilliant diamond is set in a platinum bezel.
The ring is gracefully tapered from the top to the bottom. The taper gently draws your eye to the center tanzanite, while also creating a ring that fits comfortably on your finger. Note the bead-like border along the gold and platinum edges of the ring. This bead-like pattern is known as milgraining and adds an extra touch of elegance. The small, elegant details of this ring are why we called it Tanzanite Temptation! |
![]() The matching band for this striking ring features chased platinum flowers and three brilliant diamonds. Like the ring, the gold and platinum edges of the band are milgrained. The band is available in 18kt yellow gold with platinum accents (as shown here) or in all yellow gold. Both versions are equally striking. ![]() |

Name: Tanzanite Temptation!
Cost: $6,850 ring with tanzanite
Measurements: The tanzanite is a rich bluish violet color and weighs 2.17 carats. The two side diamonds set in the platinum flowers weigh a total of 0.06 carat. Gemstone Notes: It is common practice for gem cutters to heat tanzanite to improve the gem's color and appearance. You should assume that all tanzanites have been heat treated unless the seller specifically guarantees otherwise. We believe the tanzanite set in this ring has been heat treated. |
