Art Nouveau Brooch!
The jewelers of the Art Nouveau period  (1890 to 1910)  were masters at creating small,  life-like flowers in enamel and gold.  This diminutive brooch is a wonderful example with a diamond,  several pearls and a cabochon-cut moss agate set among flowing leaves and tendrils.

Crafted in  14kt gold,  this brooch was created by Krementz & Company around 1900.  Krementz was one of the premier makers of Art Nouveau jewels in the United States.  One of their hallmarks was the use of pastel enamels,  like the soft greens and yellows along the leaves of our brooch.

Measurements:  This striking brooch is  1"  wide and  0.75"  tall.

By examining the rear of the pin you can see its sturdy construction and the solid base which supports the gemstones and golden tendrils.  Also note the chatelaine hook from which a small watch or drop pendant can be suspended.

The clasp is marked "14K" and with the hallmark for Krementz & Company  -  a stylized cuff or collar button.  Krementz was founded in 1866 and made many wonderful enamel flower jewels during the late Victorian and Art Nouveau periods.
